The EEG detector takes in a previously amplified signal, filters out a specified frequency which triggers a 200ms TTL pulse. Scientists can use this to trigger optogenetic or brain stimulation whenever the particular brain wave occurs. The filter can be revised for specific frequencies. The output of the circuit is optically isolated from the input to ensure no ground loops.
